Driver License Tests

Burien Driving Academy administers the  Written Knowledge Test approved by the Department of Licensing to get your permit and the Driving Skill Test to get your license.

The Official Knowledge Test is $40.00  ( if you are paying cash), and the 2nd knowledge exam is free. We offer the knowledge test in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and now in Amharic with a translator. We will add your result within 24 hours. So, if you pass the knowledge test, you may get your permit at the Department Of Licensing.

Official written testing is available on

Monday-Saturday at 1:00 pm and Monday- Friday at 5:00 pm

Applicants will be given a maximum of 40 minutes. Please bring legal photo identification when you come to the school to take your Test. The knowledge test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions about traffic safety laws, and for you to pass, you must score 32 questions correctly.

Official Driving Skill Testing is available every day except Sunday.  Please call us at 206-575-1700 if you want to take your driving test on the same day. You may book your driving test online if you plan to take it on a different day. 
The Offical Driving Skill Test is $80.00 per attempt in your own car. If you want to use our school car, the Testing fee is $80.00 per attempt.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your scheduled test. Late arrivals will not be able to test
