Burien Driving Academy of  Vashon Island 

Your safety is our #1 priority. 

 Burien Driving Academy of Vashon Island is the only driving school approved by the Washington State Department of Licensing to offer teen and adult driver education, as well as the WA State–approved Written Knowledge Test and Driving Skills Test on Vashon Island. 

 Our Teen Driver Education Program includes: 

•  30 hours of professional classroom instruction (live online via Zoom) 
•  5 hours of one-on-one behind-the-wheel driving lessons 
•  4 hours of Driver Improvement Program (Collision Avoidance Course) developed by the AAA Driver Training Program. 

 As a DOL-authorized driving school, we are approved to administer both the written knowledge exam and the driving skills test right here on Vashon Island. 

 Our experienced instructors provide personalized, one-on-one driving instruction and offer flexible scheduling, including weekends. Because safety is our top priority, our training focuses on building strong defensive driving skills. 

Students learn how to: 

1.  Read, understand, and react to traffic signs and signals 
2.  Follow right-of-way rules and navigate intersections safely 
3.  Share the road with other drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians
4.  Understand pavement markings 
5.  Drive confidently on busy city roads, highways, and freeways 
6.  Handle adverse driving conditions 
7.  Understand the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving 

 At Burien Driving Academy of Vashon Island, we prepare students to become confident, responsible, and safe drivers for life.

*All scheduled Teen Driver Ed courses will have a minimum of ten (10) students enrolled in order for the class to be offered. The class may be extended for additional one or two weeks so that we can enroll few more students. We apologize for any inconvenience that may occur.
